This remote park lies in the far northeast of Uganda, isolated from the rest of the country by the sparsely populated, arid badlands and mountains of Karamoja region. Seldom visited by tourists but with rugged mountain scenery, sudanese type of vegetation and few local mammal specialities. For us most important species were: last remaining maneless zebras of Uganda,  high concentration of Jackson hartebeests, huge herds of buffaloes interspersed with some sudanese morphotyped specimens, waterbucks and reedbucks and purely known Kaffa side-stripped jackals.
